This project capitalized on an existing City initiative, the Community Mural Program, to create local, meaningful, and immediate improvements in the community. Led by the artist collective, f.o.u.n.d. spaces, the artists worked with a number of City departments, various nonprofit organizations and community members to develop and shape a community. The process and implementation provided an important opportunity for public involvement in redesigning and enlivening this space.
Big thanks to artists Lindsey Kyoko Adams and Linnea Strom, who designed and developed a community mural to revitalize and enhance a well-used public space. This City of Vancouver mural captures ideas generated by local nonprofit organizations, residents, and park users, during the process of developing, designing, and painting a vibrant public art piece. This piece on the south side of Robson Park’s sport court has added colour and playfulness to the community.
